Fighting childhood obesity through exercise is the mission of TriYouthalon, which provides a mechanism for the entire family to participate in swimming, bicycling and running. Families become stronger as they set goals and support one another while exercising. They encourage one another to be the best that they can be, and in so doing, become stronger as a family. And strong families are an awesome thing!

TriYouthalon, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and our sponsors will roll out training programs designed to help each member of the family. We are working with many community organizations to encourage more physical activity, personal responsibility for health and knowledge of healthy food choices. You can stay informed with TriYouthalon’s free membership. (Please remember your email address is safe with us!)
This year our races are organized for family participation. Please tab to the race you are interested in to learn more.
July 20, 2013 - Annual Fairmount Park Family Triathlon & Duathlon
August 3, 2013 - Hunting Park Family Triathlon & Duathlon
The race distances (see events for exact distances) are age-appropriate:
75 meter swim, 2.5 mile bike, and 1/2 mile run for 7 to 11 year-olds;
150 meter swim, 5 mile bike, and 1 mile run for 12 - adult.
Race participants should work on the skills needed for each portion of the course, so train and contact us with any questions. TriYouthalon™ uses local pools for the swimming portion of our races, not open water.
We do not provide child care at any point during the race. Each racer must be able to assume independence during the race. Bring a friend or family member to help your kids cheer you on while you participate in the adult portion of the race.
Register early to guarantee a spot.
We sold out both races last year.
